What's going on...

I like the idea of one subject blogs. An entire page dedicated to a thought or event, those are probably the ideal blogs that I would write. This is not one of those. Since this is a blog dedicated to keeping friends and family connected with the every day happenings in the life of the Salaiz family, this is going to be a hodgepodge of information. For that, I'm sorry and you're welcome.

  • I told Olivia to clean up her dollhouse and it's contents. I go back to check progress 2 minutes later only to find the entire house empty and Olivia standing in front of it. I asked if she understood what I meant when I told her to clean up the dollhouse. She said, " I understand, mama. I just can't get these toys to do what they're supposed to. I snap my fingers and they just sit there. In Mary Poppins, the dollhouse toys go right back where they're supposed to!"
  • Lolly affectionately calls Olivia, "Honey Bunny" or "Olibvia Eileen"
  • Anna has learned how to blow raspberries. She mostly practices after I've placed food in her mouth.
  • Today, I set the timer for 10 minutes and told the girls that they would get a prize if their room was clean when it went off. They would get a bonus prize if the did it before the timer went off.  It was the best 10 minutes of teamwork (on Olivia's part). Olivia encouraged, begged and pleaded with Lolly to help her get the room clean. I told her that if Lolly didn't clean, she wouldn't get a prize. This made it go a bit faster. In the end, the room was cleaned, Olivia won a prize and Lolly did not. When Olivia asked if she could share her Fruit By The Foot with Lolly, my heart rejoiced! The compassion, the love, and the teamwork shown by that girl was amazing.
  • Lolly lovingly strokes my face with her chubby little hand and gazes into my eyes. She's my little love.
  • Anna says, "hey!" and "mama"
  • Anna waves hello and claps when we say, "hooray!"
  • I asked Lolly if she loves Jesus. She said, "I lobve him in my hawt. I lobve fow God in my hawt and I lobve my Bible in my hawt." She's got it all!
  • Olivia has decided she is going to start saving her money for when she gets married. She doesn't want to be poor like her mommy and daddy were when they were first married.
  • Lolly has had 6 head injuries this week.
I know there are more adorable, disgusting, appalling things that my children have done recently, however, I have run out of time. Hopefully I'll be updating this soon. Anyone have requests for blog topics? Sometimes I don't really know what y'all would like to know about...
