The pain of motherhood

People often only associate the physical pain of motherhood with the birthing process, or even pregnancy. I'm here to show it continues long after the painful moments of childbirth.
My latest child inflicted wound is this, the busted lip Anna gave me. Over the last week it has split and begun to heal incessantly. Things like jabbing it with my spoon, kisses, snapping it with a ponytail, sneezing, Anna landing a solid backhand once again, and smiling have all attributed to the postponed healing.

To all the mothers who have had children abuse you in some way, I feel your pain. To all the children who inflict pain upon their mothers, shame on you. And to my mom, I apologize for any/all injuries I've caused you.
